Grade Descriptions
C2 Traditional, middle choice, default grade with an edge towards toughness.
C2/C3 Sometimes called "Middle C" or "Big Joe". A modern, advanced grade that is tougher than the traditional C2 with better wear than the traditional C3.
C3 Traditional, middle choice, default grade with an edge towards better wear
C4 Traditional grade of carbide when wear is an issue.
NC Super Tough Nail Cutting grade. Excellent for abusive applications such as Flooring Removal, Pallet Mills, Beetle Killed Lumber and similar.
Super C A modern, advanced grade. Sub-Micron with a high binder content. The toughness of a C-1 with the wear properties of a C-3 or maybe a C-4 depending on the application. An excellent sawmill grade. Often used as a general-purpose retipping grade.
Ultra High Wear A modern, advanced grade. Submicron grain size with an alloy binder containing cobalt, chrome, nickel and other as needed. Excellent in man-made materials where heat and abrasion are an issue.
   
Pretinning Descriptions
Standard Pretinning Pretinned with Industry Standard Braze Alloy. 50% Silver, Cadmium free for ease of use and safety.
Hi Impact Pretinning Pretinned with Hi Impact Braze Alloy with 30% extra strength to prevent tip loss and breakage. 49% Silver with Manganese. Cadmium free for ease of use and safety
