Tenryu Blades:

Our engineering staff considers these Tenryu blades to be the finest, general purpose, saw blades in the world. The total runout is an incredible 0.002". The tips are an advanced carbide blend for quiet, smooth cutting and long life. The plates are flat, the teeth are exactly even and the fit and finish is truly beautiful.

Tenryu saw blades have unique tooth design and geometry for smoother and easier cuts.

Tenryu uses only modern, advanced grades of carbide for longer cutting life. Depending on the application; the carbide tips have Titanium, Tantalum and/or Niobium added to increase lubricity for smoother faster cuts. Tenryu adds Vanadium for grain growth control to create a stronger, void free material. This also helps with heat management by putting the cutting heat into the chip instead of the blade. Resin filled, laser expansion slots for reduced vibration means the blade runs truer and up to 10 decibels quieter. More energy goes into the cut because there is less vibration.

Individually hand-hammered, tensioned saw plates for true run means there are no high spots or low spots. There are no lumps, ridges, twisting or twisting ridges. The saw blade runs as a single, homogenous tool with no flat, tight or loose areas.

The saw blades are polish ground for incredible smoothness. A smoother tip means a much better cut. All the major and minor angles of the saw tip geometry are carefully calculated for beautiful cuts and fast cutting on the new blade as well as on re-sharpened blades. The angles on the saw tips also help reduce heat build up and greatly increase the cooling effect.

The saw tips are big pieces of advanced material. They are tough for long life and They are slick so they slide through the cut. There is excellent side clearance so the action is all cutting and no rubbing.

Let me start by saying the MP-305100AB has found a permanent home in the miter saw. Never have I had such glass smooth cuts from that tool.

As for the tablesaw blade, I have to say that the blade cuts beautifully.

The Tenryu GM-25540 “Gold Medal” is the upper end of Tenryu’s vast collection of saw blades. It features a fairly standard 40 tooth alternating top bevel (ATB) tooth configuration that’s suitable for a wide range of tasks. It sports large C4 micrograin carbide teeth that should hold an edge well and will withstand several sharpenings. The Gold Medal is a top shelf blade that’s very comparable in design and performance to the industry standard Forrest WWII 40T. At roughly $100, the Gold Medal doesn’t come cheap, but neither does it’s strongest competitors like the WWII, TS2000, Super General, or Fusion. Like any high end general purpose blade, it offers versatile performance with a nice compromise of glueline ripping ability, clean crosscuts, and good performance in sheet goods.
